Chinese Vocabulary Table

Introduction

Most of my reading (including mathematical literature) is done in English. As a Chinese speaker, I find it quite difficult sometimes to communicate mathematical ideas in Chinese, despite the fact that Chinese is usually a very intuitive language and mathematical terms in Chinese are very straightforward. This page is meant to be an accumulating collection of translated mathematical terms between Chinese and English sorted by topic.¹ Note that there can be more than one (standard) term for a specific concept in Chinese and English, and I will try to list all terms that I have come across. When it is ambiguous, a brief definition will be provided.²
